Art That Illuminates Your Life

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Fine Arts and used to create neon signs back in the 1990s. However, about a decade ago, I stumbled upon 3D Print Technology during a trip to Coney Island. It was fascinating to see a vendor offering to scan customers' head and shoulders in a dark booth, creating a precise 3D file that was sent to a device mounted on plywood. The device then produced a replica of the customer's head, about half the size, over the next few hours. I was mesmerized by this new technology and decided to explore it further. After designing a small sculpture two months later, I sent the file to a fabricator business in Texas, and that was the beginning of my journey into illuminated sculptures. I was amazed to discover that light passed through my little white sculpture, and I have been experimenting and exploring illuminated sculptures ever since!
